Fit again, Molloy confirmed for 2019/20

By Matthew Cassin

London Irish Wild Geese can confirm that scrum half Alfred Molloy will continue to play for the club for another season.

Alfie, like Ryan Byfield, is a product of the clubs Mini and Youth sections and went on to play for the Pro Academy.

Head Coach, John Lacey said “it’s great to have Alfie involved for the coming season, he’s a London Irish lad and brilliant around the squad.

He has a good rugby brain and very good communication skills. He’ll bring competition into the half back department, which will only drive our standards higher”.

Molloy commented “I am delighted to have re-signed for my boyhood club.

The club has big ambitions and has put the foundations in place to achieve them. I was fortunate enough to work with John Lacey when I was younger and believe his appointment, along with the new coaching setup, is proof of the clubs intent.

I’m looking forward to working hard and hopefully pushing for a 1st team spot along with doing whatever I can to help us to achieve our ambition of promotion.

The boys are gelling well. There’s a good atmosphere around the squad after the first 2 weeks of pre-season. I’m excited to continue building and to see what the season has in store for us!”

Make a note of our first preseason game against Henley Hawks at their Dry Leas home on Saturday 10th August.
