Wild Geese are excited to announce new Head coach

It’s official: London Irish Wild Geese name John Lacey their new head coach

London Irish Wild Geese are delighted to formally announce the appointment of John Lacey as Head Coach ahead of the coming 2019/2020 season.

John joins the Geese following a hugely successful 7 year stint as Academy Director at Ealing Trailfinders RFC. He brings with him a proven track record in developing players and coaches both to perform at National League levels and the desire to create in infrastructure and environment that allows players to reach their highest possible potential.

Lacey can also boast previous roles as Head Coach at Middlesex County and Ruislip RFC on an impressive CV.

John will join LIWG in June and of his appointment said:

"Excitement doesn't come close to how feel about joining London Irish Wild Geese. The club has set some challenging targets for next season and beyond and the ambition demonstrated is infectious. We have a lot to get in place to achieve this starting with pre-season planning which starts in June. We will be looking to supplement the existing squad with some new faces both on and off the pitch. I cannot wait".

LIWG Director of Rugby, Eddie Fraher said.

"Securing a Head Coach who matched our ambition was an absolute priority, to get One with with the experience and the boundless energy John has demonstrated throughout this process is great news for the club as a whole. John Lacey has a track record of delivery in his time at Trailfinders and we are delighted to get him on board. These are exciting times for our club and one where investment and ambition will be matched by the development of our players and squad. We are counting down the days to pre-season and look forward to making further announcements in the coming days".
