David fought a battle with cancer with dignity and bravery and passed away peacefully in Kingston hospital on 8th February with his family by his side.

He was a devoted husband to Jean, a loving father to Will and Sarah and a faithful friend to many.

David was originally from Kilkeel in County Down and immersed himself in the life of the club after his son Will joined mini rugby in 1991. He was a frequent traveller to London Irish away fixtures and never missed the biennial trip to Dublin for the Ireland - V - England five and six nations tournament, where he could wondrously source an extra ticket for a fellow visiting Ireland supporter.

David’s funeral arrangements will be posted as soon as they are known.

He will be sadly missed and London Irish extends its sympathy to David’s family and friends.
