The festival has been developed in response to the rapid rise in women's and girls rugby in England. According to the RFU, 40,000 women and girls are now registered as players, with this figure growing at 17% per year, which is astounding. Recent news of TikTok sponsoring the Women’s Six Nations has elevated growth, and we are seeing more mainstream media coverage of the sport.
London Irish Amateur’s celebration of girls rugby will attract teams from the UK and overseas, with a league format for U12 to U18 age groups. The event has been organised to coincide with the milestone Red Roses vs. France match at Twickenham and the bank holiday. Please join us for an exciting day of rugby, followed by prizes, food, drinks and entertainment in our clubhouse.

Youth Girls rugby at London Irish Amateur is inclusive and competitive and we run age group teams at U12, U14, U16 and U18. Our coaching offers opportunity for girls who are new to the sport and those seeking a platform for player progression and advancement. Several of our girls are currently playing in the England Rugby DPP and at County level. We promote enjoyment and camaraderie and develop our players to be the best version of themselves. We train on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and on Sunday mornings.
We’re calling on the London Irish Amateur family to spread this news and encourage any other clubs that you may be associated with to join us on 30th April.
