London Irish Wild Geese team for Chichester

London Irish Wild Geese team for Chichester

Matthew Cassin8 Sep 2023 - 14:20

Ryan Gregory has announced his two senior teams for the weekend.

This weekend sees the Wild Geese face Chichester away, while the Wanderers travel to Chipstead for their first game of the season.

The Geese team remains largely unchanged from the opening round win over Farnham.

Oisín Byrne, Harry Roffey and club captain Rory Harrison all retain their starting shirts.

There is a change in the second row with Dan Reed being replaced by Tyler Hone while Matthew Cassin moves to the tighthead lock.

Club legend Scott Moore, is rested after picking up a niggle last weekend. In his place, Finn Wheeler-Holes gets a deserved start after impressing off the bench against Farnham. James Wilson and veteran Ed Harte complete the starting pack.

With Killian Wilson out for this game, London Irish Amateur club product Conor Evans steps into the 10 jersey while George Phillips keeps the 9 jersey.

The centre partnership of Theo Barkway-Hall and Henry Fuller will look to cause trouble for the Chichester back line off of set piece again this week.

James Madle and Tadhg O'Hagan will also look to get on the end of first phase strike plays and catch up with Henry's three try tally so far this season.

Cork native Tom Fitzgerald also gets his first start this week. The Cork Con man lit up in attack last week and will be one to keep an eye on.
