Meet Bethan John. Growing up, Bethan played rugby at Wimbledon RFC with her brother. After a long break, she returned to rugby at university, only to have the season cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, she found her footing again when she joined London Irish in 2020. A seasoned back-line player, Bethan started at Irish on the wing before moving to centres and now finds her home at back row. Last season, she achieved her 50th cap, but she’s not entering her fifth season with the Emeralds. Bethan’s wealth of experience has allowed her to step up into a leadership role this season, with the aim of creating a positive environment for the Emeralds and helping them excel in Championship 1.

An interesting fact about Bethan is that she can sit the G on request.
