Biography
Catherine, known as Goose to her teammates and supporters, is an ultra-competitive athlete with a strong background in sports that demand speed, agility, and vision, which she transfers to her game in this format of rugby.
As an ex-regional netballer, she is no stranger to performing under pressure, swapping shooting hoops to slotting conversions to get her team over the line.
Her proudest sporting moment came when she captained her England U18 touch rugby team to European Gold, 3 years in a row, which earned her a call-up to the England Women’s Open on their tour to Australia in 2018.
Memorable moments in her beloved green jersey include scoring the double over her previous club, Richmond, last year, converting from the sideline in the 21-19 away victory, and opening the scoring in the first five minutes against Bath at The Rec, having led the team out to fireworks.
Goose loves playing for the Emeralds and is determined to contribute to more big wins this season!
In her professional life, Goose is a first-class graduate in Quantity Surveying and is currently pursuing Chartership through RICS, the industry’s professional body.
Her strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to growth are reflected in her sporting and professional endeavours, and she loves the challenges the season brings.
With a big heart, friendly face and love for a good Guinness, Goose is always up for a laugh and loves to catch up with our supporters after the game. She hopes to see as many new and old faces as possible this season, and promises to give her all for the mighty London Irish Emeralds! ☘️??
