Meet Ken Dowding, a passionate rugby coach and former professional player, who has just completed 24 years in the army as a Staff Sergeant, balancing a military career, a professional rugby career, and family life. He is about to finish his degree in Business Management and is also a Level 3 RFU coach, bringing a wealth of experience to the field.With a decorated playing career that includes stints with the British Army U21-1st XV and clubs like Leicester Tigers and Bath, Ken knows what it takes to compete at the highest level. As a head coach for the London Irish Women and Surrey Women County XV, he emphasises teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement.
An interesting fact about Ken is that he has competed in Tug of War for Great Britain at the junior level and is a certified Tug of War coach. A dedicated family man, he enjoys wakeboarding and paddleboarding, cherishing time spent with his loved ones.
Ken strives to create a family environment for the Emeralds, pushing players and the team to achieve greatness together.
